Hi Carlo,

I love this set too! Your painting example on the trumpeter is terrific! I did not know it is in such beautiful green jacket. What unit is this?

The figures look great, indeed. But the trumpeter is not 100% accurate. By the look of the riders I would presume they are representing the second cuirassier regiment in pre-1813 uniforms (because of the plumes and the trouser), so the green jacket is correct. The trumpeter has a white lapel around the collar - it should be yellow/gold in same pattern as the stripes on the jacket. Additionally, the tail on the helmet should be more white instead of black.

Wow, phenominal!

The painting is to a standard I can only dream to acquire. How long does it take (approx) for you to paint this many figures in such detail? How many have you painted (Cuirassiers)?

I try to attain a balance between reasonable detail and large numbers.

All your figures thus far in the gallery are superb!

Hi Carlo,

Zedalist, Thank you for the valuable information.

I think its very important to have good balance between accuracy and artistry, there are time it is necessary to be "inaccurate" to be beautiful.

By the way, I just visit your website and I LOVE IT! Very happy to see top quality blog!

BTW, your wife does beautiful ground work. I'm also very lucky to have a woman who is involved in this hobby.

Please keep up with the excellent work!

Just pure excellence. This is far better than most paintings in an art gallery.
