Hi Pau_gt,
I did not mean sunlight but clouded sky light, which gives diffused light from every side.
Placing your diorama outside in the shadow of a wall or other house may work as well but does not give as good diffuse light as cloudy sky.
You can also think of a semi-transparent sheet making the sunlight less bright and the shadows less hard.
If there is sunlight only (I wish Amsterdam was like that man, I am jealous!) I recommend to use a white sheet, large white paper or white styrofoam board to bounce (reflect) additional sunlight.
So now you have two light sources in stead of only the bright sun.
Sun only creates very hard shadows, not useful for showing a model.
But a second source (reflection) gives much moor depth to the lighting and makes shadow parts become visible.
Good luck with that sea of sunshine!
