Russian Warrior Monks

Here is my ignorant attempt at the Russian Warrior Monks, whose origins were the subject of some head scratching a few weeks ago. We are all better educated now, but that may not be reflected in my painting efforts.

Very good job! I like this kit and you represent it in nice painting!
Only one thing - their dress should paint black or dark grey colour. There were two types of priesthood in Moscowia - "black" and "white". "Black" were monks, "White" - priests. I hope it will help for painters, who will paint this interesting kit.

Eugenij, And they were in fight as a defenders of monasters only, part of defending town or kreml, or maybe as commanders/"good ghosts" of warbands? Priests didn't fight?

Russian monks wasn't warriors. Monasteries were main citadels in Russia. Siege of monastry was extremely occasion. And all men inside monastery (strelets, warriors, monks, citizens) had to fight. They took part in those occasions as usual fighters. And there weren't priests in monasteries.. only monks
