Small vignette "Baghdad railway"

Posted by praga on 06 Jan 2017, 13:55

The ancient locomotive of Airfix. Very beautiful kit despite the age. Still to get at Dapol. The Arab is from the set "Lawrence of Arabia" by Strelets. The horse is from the Conquistadores set of revell. Everything on a mini diorama base of matchbox but converted by me.
Best regards, Jens Hilgraf

Logic combo of Matchbox bases. ;-)
What is the Academy tripod doing at the left site of the locomotive?
The pose of the Arab as the horse look to me that they saw surprised the first time a thing like this.
Nice palms, nice little Dio.
:-D

@Peter
There is no steam so no machinist is need. :mrgreen:

Nice diorama, the combination of figures (horse and arab) works great and is very "epic", the locomotive is amazing, very wel painted and good weatering and ageing job (it will be nice to see a little of the interior). The way in wich you worked the matchobox display (half track kit) is very good.
I agree with the fellows in wich another character (machinist) inside the cabin or near if there are not place in the cabin, could give more logic to the scene.
Is a nice vignette, with good dinamic. :yeah:

Hello, Jens,

Very nice idea. Really good. :yeah:

I miss the machinist too and the steam.
The palm trees are not so good in my eyes. But is my opinion.

Best regards Dirk
