Hi all,
Finally got some time to do a bit more painting! In my ongoing painting of Murat's forces for the Battle of Tolentino, I've painted the 1st battalion of the 7th Infantry Regiment, famously recruited from Caribbean refugees from Saint Domingue. Apparently Napoleon foisted them onto his brother when Joseph was still the king of Naples because they were the worst regiment in the French army. Without any improvement, they became the best regiment in the Neapolitan army. Says a lot about the quality of the army of Naples!
I was a bit lazy about trimming the mould lines off the legs of these figures, which show up fairly prominently in this photo
, but for wargaming they are more than adequate.
I've also painted a couple of command stands for my Neapolitan forces using Franznap's characterful figures
