"Germans to the front" Boxer Rebellion 1900

Posted by Michel on 02 Jan 2023, 09:06

Here are pictures of a small vignette, which I build in Dezember.
The figures are from Munich Kits, with a few converted figures.
A painting by Carl Röchling served as a model.

So very nice.

The Boxer Rebellion was on my "to-do" list until the Redbox figures were released. They were enough to kill my dreams.

Very nice and an unusual subject! The colours look very well handled - lots of subtle tonality in those whites.

I'm not sure which I like better.
The painting or your vignette. ;-)
Very good work.

I really like your work and paintings, the assembly with the painting is striking.

Thanks a lot... :-D
But I´m a bit sad, that Max made not the complete range of figures from the painting! ;-)

Great stuff! I am not familiar with the figures here, but they look very good - and very well painted too - and the excellent Rochling painting provides more than enough inspiration.

Excellent job Michel, as Bill has already commented, the shades of white are really well done and so subtle.

Thank you for the positive feedback.
I will talk to Max if he will create some more figures to be able to represent the painting 1:1.

Beautiful work as usual Michel. Thanks for sharing and maybe it would be nice to see a few more photos, including some close-ups, from other angles to show us just how nicely you paint your figures.
Ps/ if I could criticize the sculpting I might say that the bayonets appear to be a bit too short - but that’s being very critical.

The diorama is well done, But as a history, this war was the beginning of a great disaster for my motherland and then China
