We could say the opposite too: the armour is probably made of leather and painted grey. If that is the case, Elsi did it perfectly well, I think I see grey, not metallic color. Why Philistines painted leather grey? I have no clue but some modern reconstructions show so. And the iron swords? Weren't the Philistines a bronze age people? Then they should not use much iron at all I think. So again that fits with Elsi's choice of color.

If they are "peleset" people of 1180 BC, of the Medinet Habu battle relief they were bronze age people; i.e. the "Naue II" - type swords, shown on the relief are bronze swords. The armour in this time is not made of iron too.
